What does it mean to be MEAN? (Mean Girls: Movie Review)

Have you ever met someone who is mean to you? or maybe you're the one who is being mean? What does it mean to be MEAN? MEAN means To be inconsiderate and selfish (Urban Dictionary) but still, why do people choose to be it? Because as to the movie MEAN GIRLS, when you're mean you're hot and sexy. You're on top as if like nobody can touch you or screw you. You're always on trend and you're always in if you're MEAN.

Although all the things that I said are true (If you're Mean you are IN), I still don't see anything good about being mean. I admit sometimes I'm being like that without knowing it. But I felt sorry for that person I've talked to for being so rude and cruel.

But the good thing about this movie is that, it showed the pros and cons of being MEAN. Yes, you're popular but you will never appear as beautiful in the eyes of the majority. MEAN could led to GOSSIPS, CAT FIGHTS and even losing the people that trust you the most. Some girls would pretend just to be one of them and change the way they are.

I still think that being yourself and showing people who you really are, are way better than living life that is full of pretensions.

LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY: What is your possession?

For some it's boring, for some it's cool and some would just watch it because it's different from the usual movies that they always watch in cinema or on screen. If you really are not into adventures you won't like it but that doesn't mean  that this trilogy of Lord of the Rings should be compared to the series of Harry Potters because even though they both have the elements of magic and fantasy, Lord of the Rings still has its own unique elements that attracts people to love it and praise it.

The author of this book (JRR Tolkien) really did a good job in making this Trilogy. If you're just watching because of the Actors/ Actresses who are in it or because of the graphics and the animations of the film, your movie ticket is not worth it. If you will really analyze what the story of the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King, it is not just about the possession of getting the ring and claim it then you'll become the most powerful living creature in the world. This Trilogy depicted life and how people lived and living with it.

The Ring, it represents money. Everyone wants to have it and own it. In this world, money is a need in able to survive but the problem is they we sometimes depend to much on this material thing to the point where we'll do everything just to get it and earn it. Oh and not only money but also those things that we possess the most, that could be compared to the Ring that we're talking about in the film.

Yes, we know that in a movie even in real life, there's an antagonist and protagonist. In this trilogy, Frodo is the main protagonist even from the very beginning. he represents human beings. But what happened to him? he was also deceived by the spark and beauty of the ring. There was a scene where in he lose trust to the old people he trusted because he was too deceived by the power of the ring. Frodo's mission is to throw the ring into the flaming mountain where it could be destroyed. He went to many obstacles and trials before he finally got to the place where he should destroy the temptation. But when he got there, for the last time he was deceived and had that second thought on throwing it. The choice of destroying it is in his hands.

In life, there are people who will help you and there are people who will pull you down. There are choices that could put your life at risk and some decisions that will make you better and see greater things in life. In Frodo's case, Sam didn't leave him alone because he is a true friend. Frodo found a happy place to live and continue his life just like the way it was before he got the ring.

I love Lord of the Rings because they made a simple conflict into a twist that put emphasis on the attitudes and behavior of the characters in the story. It started with a simple ring and the only thing to destroy it is to throw it into a flame of fire. But behind that, there are different stories that made the conflict more interesting and that is the story of betrayal, friendship, trust, hope and love.

1990s Favorite Movies

We were exposed to movies even at the early age because my siblings are really fond of watching chick flicks and these are the movies that made me love films so much.

1. 10 Things I Hate About You - Starring Julie Stiles, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon- Levitt and Larisa Oleynik

What I love about this movie is that the story is not a typical one, not on the year it was released. The girl who is an anti-social fell for a guy who got stucked on a paid agreement to get the girl's attention but unexpectedly the girl fell for him and he wasn't ready for it.

This is a fun movie to watch, I promise. There's a humor in it and at the same you'll realize the 10 things you'll  hate and love about the guy you like.

2. She's All That - Starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook

What I love about this movie is that though it is kinda predictable, the characters in the film will make you giggle and fall in love at the same time. Watching this at the age of 12 years old, what reaction do you expect? Of course, I also dreamed my own prince charming. The guy who seems so perfect, Student Body President, Captain of the Football Team, "The" Prince Charming of the campus fell for an "ordinary" girl who loves art. But the twist here is that the attention stared with a bet that became the conflict of the story.

3. Bring It On - Starring Kristen Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Jesse Bradford and Gabrielle Union

This is our all time favorite movie. If others memorized the lines in the movie Parent Trap, my younger sister and I memorized the lines in this movie. If you are a music lover and a dancer, you will really love this movie because during those times when we first watched this, we were so amazed on how they come up with this kind of movie. The moves and the stunts were really good and I think the first Bring It On is the best among the other Bring It On movies. Don't you think so?

Trivia: Gabrielle Union is present in all of these movies. :)

These are just 3 movies that I would like to share with you guys. I'll post more later.....
Thank you for stopping by, God bless y'all! :)
